Rst1990
I have had a look on the gov website on this matter and you can transport a firearm for When a gun or section 1 ammunition is being used or the holder has the gun with him for some purpose connected with its use, transfer or sale, reasonable precautions must be taken for the safe custody of the gun(s) and section 1 ammunition. I've got a friend that does French polishing and would like him to have a go at my shotgun as he has all the facilities to do it at his house, legally am I able to drive it to him? To much hassle for him to come to me and lug all the gear over. Thanks
Dekers
YES! But will he not simply want the woodwork anyway?

Rst1990
YES! But will he not simply want the woodwork anyway? Yer he will just want the woodwork. So will just break it down for him and leave the barrels at home, but if I got pulled over I just wanted to know if all was legal. geordieh
I think you will have to take the stock off the action completely as he is not allowed to have the action in possession without SGC Geordie
Breastman
Above would only apply if you weren't there while he was doing the work i.e. if you were going to leave it with him overnight or longer. As has been said though, just take the stock and foreend
wildrover77
I think you will have to take the stock off the action completely as he is not allowed to have the action in possession without SGC Geordie Unless the law has changed this is wrong. Shotgun parts are not controlled, as long as he does not have the full gun he is ok
