foxbuster
Hi guys, Is anyone using the above in they're 1/14" barrel in 22.250? Only reason I ask is I can't get my usual Sako 50gn BT bullets locally anymore (which I was getting really good results with). Can get Hornady 55gn BT's but have heard stories that these may be a tad heavy in this twist rate? These will be used in my Tikka T3 stainless. Cheers in advance. foxbuster
I suppose I'll have to try a box and see how it goes from there. Where are my fellow S. Wales shooters getting they're ammo from these days? I was getting my Sako 50gn BT's from Litts but they don't stock them now? Anyone recommend a good round (I know every barrel will differ but looking for some recommendations to start off with) Cheers.

There is a lot of BS spoken of twist rates, 55 grn should be just fine and more depends on the individual bullet selected than the weight within the scope of the twist (which 55's certainly fall into)
foxbuster
Thanks for the replies guys, I'm home next week, so weather permitting I'll get out and try some out. Cheers.
foxbuster
Well finally managed to get out and have a zeroing session with the 55gn, was pleasantly surprised to find there wasn't a huge difference between the 50's I'd been previously using, slight elevation correction and she was banging in 1.5" groups at 200yrds-more than adequate for myself (I would say I was getting slightly tighter results with the Sako 50's, but hey ho, the gingers won't notice:-)). Father in law lost two lambs last night so will be out tonight hoping to catch up with the culprit. Thanks for all the replies guys-Cheers.
