goodo123
Looking at buying one. Any of the bikers on here had any experience with them? What's the actual seat height like? I'm not massively short and don't need to be flat footed but got around a 29" leg. Got a bit of poundage to flatten the seat cusion too. safc1973
Old one or new 1290? I have inside leg of 29" and am rather tubby but 815mm seat height on my old speed triple was the highest i was comfortable with - 1 foot flat the other on toes. the 1290s seat height is 835mm, the old one was 850mm. old KTM brakes were not very good, personally if i wanted that type of bike again i would go for another speed triple, the new BMW s1000r or the new z1000. Gimlet
If its the 1290 I'd wait for MKII when they'll probably sort the electronics out. Not being able to customise the rider aids and save your settings would really bug me. In the meantime there's always the Speed Triple. I've just bought a 2013 model, the last of the non-ABS models and its an absolute peach. Made in Blighty, no electronics, silky smooth fuelling and all the wheelies you ask for - and the odd few you don't... Brilliant.
Rimfireboy
Been thinking about a speed triple myself. I do like KTM's though.
Catweazle
I love the Speed Triples, the Tuono is also a lot of fun.

foxbuster
Good bike, loads of fun. Easy to loft the front up and plenty of grunt and handling to keep up with the sports bikes through the twisties;-) Awesome soundtrack too:-)
