Recommended Posts

Hi all i'm in the market for a pair of new decoys for my magnet but i can't make my mind up as which one's to buy i'v narrowed it down to, a pair of the pro-flap magnet decoys from A1 decoys or a pair of sillosocks hypa-flaps from uk shoot warehouse they both look good on there vids, but which one's are best for attracting and ease of use

Another vote for the HYPA-FLAPs, they save the need to keep dead birds for your rotary or to wait until you've shot a pair!

I have four Hypa-flaps and use them as bouncers or on the rotary.

Just one point though, like all of the mass produced decoying equipment, the mounts are made of plastic and will not last for ever.

I am currently making some out of Stainless Steel to ensure they last longer than the originals.

Take a trip to your local model shop where they sell carbon fibre rods for use on kites. They have various thickness of rods and I have bought 3 different thicknesses for use on various wind conditions, for my hypa floppy things ! It comes in metre lengths.

I have some of the first ones from when UK shoot warehouse first started to sell them, both kdubya and myself have some that were sent up to us by Will Beasley to field trial

that was a few years ago and i am still using them and the mounts are made from metal on the ones we have not plastic..

The ones I bought a couple of years ago had the plastic mounts which broke with little use. UKSW sent me a pair of the original metal mounts as replacements which I pop riveted to the decoy body and they've been fine ever since.
