bicykillgaz
Hi gents, I've finally managed to get my self a pedretti hushpower, I've owned a Baikal hushpower which I was impressed with but never persisted long enough to get very good with. Swapped this with another member on Sunday and I'm glad I did. I got out for an hour yesterday afternoon and can't believe how quiet it is. It makes my old Baikal seem loud. I had a couple of speculative shots at some high fast pigeons but missed them both so resorted to shooting at clumps of grass in different areas just to see how loud it was in different situations. I really can't believe how big a difference there is between the Baikal and this I would highly recommend swapping over if you own a Baikal. Next issue is I need to make a clamp to attach a sling to it, has anyone already done this? Not interested in anything that obstructs your view like Velcro and rubber mounts, more something like a band clamp that grips the bottom two thirds if one exsists. Hopefully next pics will be from when I've finally christened it! Cheers Gary Edited March 3, 2014 by bicykillgaz

Brad93
I need one of these. What's the going rate?
Rimfireboy
Looks good Gary, what carts are you using. Whatever they are, try eley fourlongs fella. The quietest I've used with the moderated fourten, and I've tried a lot of different carts. That's including the two inch and subsonic loads. bicykillgaz
I need one of these. What's the going rate? Varies on condition mate I've seen them for as little as £160 but they were rough mine was a swap deal but basically cost me about £290 but also came with 250 eley 3" subs. In my baikal I found 3" subs fairly loud so used lyalvale 2.5" no6, however either eley subs have improved massively or this gun is amazing as it's incredibly quiet compared to the old baikal. When the eley subs run out I'll try a few others but for now I'll be sticking with them mate.
Rimfireboy
Fourlongs are quieter than eley subs.
bicykillgaz
Fourlongs are quieter than eley subs. When I run out I'll give them a bash mate, in my old baikal it was always lyalvale 2.5" 14g no6 that just edged it. I always found stuff with a decent plastic cup better, I put it down to getting a better seal than a fibre wad allowing the gasses to port off better but could be wrong. Is yours a pedretti? I've not shot .410 for over a year and about 3 since I had the baikal so gonna take a while to get my sim in again. I might nip and get a few box's of what ever is cheapest to use on my clay trap and save the subs.
southeastpete
Remember if you use plastic not fibre to check the barrel is clear, as they can get caught in the holes in the barrel.

I will mate, by the sounds of it though eley fourlong are gonna end up being its main diet which are fibre wads.

Enjoy Have you left it as standard or fitted a sling somehow? Thinking of making a fitting at work the using Devcon to fit it to the mod. And spray the mod matte green so it's not so shiney. Mine's a chimbo poacher, I've tried lyalvale 2:1/2's but they're quite a bit louder than fourlongs in mine Gary. Been thinking about a bretton & gaucher. Just gets used for rookeries really. Odd rat or squirrel. Edited March 4, 2014 by Rimfireboy
bicykillgaz
I like the look of them Bretton gaucher's but would want to have a play loading and unloading shells, best designed bolt action is webley IMO, I had a lovely anschutz bolt action but it was a bitch to load. They got cylinder choke too (bretton gaucher) but it means you can stuff more lead down them, I wouldn't let it put you off. As you can guess I'd highly recommend the pedretti version if you can find one locally. I'll have to have a play about with shells as I quite fancy some loaded with no7's ideally 3" to give a good dense pattern. If it's possible I want mine opening out to 1/4 choke too but that'll have to be when funds permit. What's the Chimbo look like I'm not familiar? carpbish
my mate mick has one, they are light and shoulder well but they are cheap tac the bolt is horrible and not as quite as the pedretti but they are only about 250 brand new, the finish on the whole gun is poor.they do the job though
