charity clay pigeon shoot,50 bird sporting 2 man flush, lincs, 20th ap

we are hosting a clay pigeon shoot at haverholme estate to help raise money for the sumerset levels farmers relief fund, and project kenya

 

There will be a 50 bird sporting layout, this is set in one of our ancient woodlands, 2 man flush, have a go stand, BBQ, refresments etc, and bring the whole family with you

 

 

Entry, Adults £15.00

juniors £10.00

 

3 Classes, mens, Ladies, and under 16 high scores

 

prize money according to entry

Hello mate, is the pay to enter bit for those with guns? And is the have a go stand what it says on the tin? A bit new to shooting but want to have a go!

The Have a go stand will provide gun, cartridges, instruction Etc but normally you can use your own gun if you have one & just take advantage of the instructors advice.

The have a go stand will provide guns from a 12 bore. 20 bore and .410. Pop down and have ago

There will also be an air rifle competion on.

Well I have just got home from this shoot ... as a novice shooter ,I like many other people thought it was very difficult to shoot with a couple of stands near on impossible to connect with.

 

Who ever set it up must have a very good imagination .. you would think with it being for such a good cause they would have made it a bit easier so the shooters would keep going round ...

 

Another thing alot of people where complaining about was that you had to walk so far to the flush to find out you had to pay at the ssporting entry ..

 

I have to say it was very disappointing and off putting .. there is alot more thought needs to be put in for next time ...

I agree with you loneranger, the same happens at the belvoir hunt shoot at silk willoughby ,I suspect set up by the same people,

 

when will these local charity shoots learn ?

Thanks for the feedback. All we can do is improve the layout for the next one. As we had to change traps due to broken clays landing near the cages.

If shoots are to be successful, they need to be better organised than this one was apparently. They also need to answer questions on a forum - if they start out advertising there.

 

Just seems less than professional all round.

lets not get to negative about this ,the venue was fantastic the tea and cake stands were also very good a barbecue and gun shop was also available,

the downside was some poorly set up targets,

 

this was set up by volunteers for a good cause for which I applaud ,just make it more it sporting for the people who enjoy the sport.
