Bryn12
Just back from a gun fitting with Daf at Garlands, as much of a lesson as fitting left Garlands buzzing with new found confidence and direction to improving my clay shooting, really first class guy. Oh came back with a new toy.........well I needed something to tide me over while Daf works on my original gun
bruno22rf
Our local club has a qualified coach who teaches my lad every time we go (twice a month)-he spends every minute with my lad while he shoots and my boy is getting low 60's after only 5 lessons. The ground charge £12.50 for 100 clays and sell discounted shells-the instructor is free of charge-sounds we have ourselves a bargain
welshwarrior
Bryn glad you enjoyed it and it was useful hope the new toy looks after you until I can get your baby back. Edited May 22, 2014 by welshwarrior

Bryn12
Aye, new gun not quite as pretty as the other one but it seems to break clays just fine providing I put the lead in the right place Mrs Bryn is relishing the excuse to smack me on the back of the head if I slip up
welshwarrior
Make sure she doesn't slap you to hard or you may develop a flinch.
Bryn12
Don't think it will take long to get rid of that particular fault as it's only recently been introduced (long story) and not part of my natural style so I should be able to drop that particular BLX fairly quickly. Squash wavy
Just to follow up from my experience today at Garlands with Daf. I learnt a heck of a lot on technique and mount, which I was pretty **** at before. Also checked my gun fit which has been found to be pretty decent. Daf really knows his stuff and articulates well. I highly recommend him. Going for another couple of hours on Thursday!
Bryn12
Aye, if he was nearer Daf would probably be sick of the sight of me put what he told me into action today and am now capable of hitting every bird on the skeet layout, not consistently but that'll come with practice. welshwarrior
Thanks guys enjoy both your company. Bryn hope you didn't get a headache from it!!
Bryn12
Enjoyed every minute, was a long day though. The way my brain works is to subconsciously review everything over the next couple of days so although it may not seem to sink in on the day it'll be there somewhere. Salop Matt
Looking forward to my lesson with Daf tomorrow morning! At this rate Daf will need a skeet vest badged as "sponsored by PW" !
welshwarrior
Glad your all enjoying it, Bryn finish the adjustments on your gun today.
Bryn12
Thanks Daf, looking forward to getting the 'long' gun back. Had my 2nd go on a DTL layout at Auldgirth today, a bit scary as I was in a 'squad' of 3 guys who can shoot a bit, gave myself a pleasant surprise, didn't hit everything and my breaks were fairly chippy but that 2hrs with you really has worked wonders. Squash wavy
Another fantastic lesson with Daf today. Took my whole shooting to a new level. Also realised on the way home of the celebrity person he reminds me of. ***********. Anyone else agree?! Seems M Ike Y ardley is in the swear filter. How quaint! Bryn12
Travelled down to collect my gun and have a Skeet specific lesson, 2hrs and 150 clays later I have a pretty complete knowledge of what I need to do to break them all so have something solid to work on. Apart from the technicalities I need to take the pressure off myself but still attack the clays, I suspect acquiring the correct state of mind will come through successful training and confidence. Well worth the 4hrs drive down and another 4 back home. The gun now feels perfect. Thanks Daf
