spready
Ive got an A301 beretta and absolutely love it, but I'm after some advice, is there anyway i could slightly shorter the barrel and have the inside of it threaded to take chokes rather than have the locking nut fitted to the end? also I've asked before but never had any feed back, can the metal on the wooden front end be removed so i can strip back the horrible lacquer finish and give it a nice oiled stock?? welshwarrior
Nigel Teague to do the chokes. The metal work is hard to remove you are best working around it with extreme care. The captive nut may come out.
spready
Yes I've got a set of the original drop in chokes it came with, i just liked the idea of a slightly shorter barrel. I was planning on using nitromors cabinet stripper, surely that would destroy the finish on the metal work?
welshwarrior
Nigel will shorten your barrel and fit this own multi chokes. Strippers on the metal are not the best, depends on the metal finish if it will be removed.
spready
Thnaks I've just emailed them about costs.... Just the front end metal work, any ideas guys?
Rst1990
Just go round it and be carefull, that's what I did with mine. Nitromors is a waste of time, like you I thought this would work well but didn't really lift anything at all.
welshwarrior
I don't use stripper as they won't touch factory laquacers only DIY stuff.
spready
I used to be in the carpentry joinery trade, we used nitromors cabinet makers stuff, its in the yellow cans, I've done a few stocks with it much better than the green stuff
Westley
Might be cheaper to swap the gun for a 303 model. It will probably cost more than the value of the gun to have it Teagued.

Paul223
For the wood work try using a Stanley blade, use a scratching action rather than cutting
Rst1990
Sand paper to rub it down and a bronze brush for the chequering, I warn you.... It's not a five minute job.
