BRNDL
Hello all. I have come across the above gun and was wondering what is it worth on the open market. It's in general good condition with slight fading on the bluing at the end of the barrel. Good wood and really would come up with a re-oil. Recently serviced barrel bores good. BRNDL
Thanks chaps. It's up for £450 so fairly cheap if it's in good condition. I have seen photos and it looks ok but face to face is where the truth is told. ATB BRNDL

HDAV
£450 bargain That is a good price I paid £550 for a 32" 3800 with trap chokes which was a steal!
welshwarrior
£450 I'd be very tempted to have that.
BRNDL
Thanks chaps, Have you any pointer on what I need to be looking for when I go to view this gun, apart from the visual appearance and internal bores ect?
dougall
my check list would be 1)Barrels 2)Barrels 3)Barrels.
welshwarrior
Straight barrels with no choke alterations, Comb not been lowered to sporterize it. Forend for cracks normal top half against forend iron particularly on the 90* corner. Bottom barrel give good strikes prone to striker wear and weak main spring in bottom barrel easy to fix. BRNDL
How do I note the choke alterations and comb from standard?
welshwarrior
Choke is easy look at the stamped marks on the barrels get the dealer to measure the current choke, or look for tooling marks. Comb is experience or measure the drop compared to factory dimensions same as LOP.
BRNDL
So it turns out the gun is a miroku 800, not the 3800 as previously thought. I only found out once I came home and posted it up on FB. More research needed next time!
HDAV
Nowt wrong with an 800 but possibly less of a bargain possibly more so.... Photos required !!!
BRNDL
More pics Sorry I don't have a full length picture. Note in pic one, there is a crack in the stock about 3/4cm in length. It looks like it has been there a while... Off to the gun smiths soon to have it looked at then possibly up for sale as I wanted a 3800!
