Verminator343
Hi guys, In September, I am moving up to Holme Lacy area, Hereford to do a specialist college course. I would like to know about the surrounding clay shoots. I have had a look on the CPSA website and there are no sites listed. So doing a google search has come up with some, but I want to hear your opions on the shoots. As I am 16, I will not be able to bring my own gun, as in other posts; I have stated I have my own license and my own gun. Do these shoots offer gun hire? Otherwise, I will come back down to south Hampshire every time I want to shoot. Also, I will be looking for beating up in Hereford, so any contacts would be greatfully apreciated. Thanks guys, I am looking forward to going to Hereford, so the names of any shoots would top off my time up in Hereford. Happy easter! welshwarrior
Not a lot in Hereford when I lived there. In Hereford today I used to shoot with my wife's uncle at a 'club' but the guy who ran it died not been since.
Westward
Longridge is about 20 miles south of Hereford. Open most Saturdays for sporting practice and holds registered sporting shoots about once a month. www.longridgeclayshooting.co.uk

Katash
A few small clubs about in Hereford - pop into Philip Morris and talk to Mark Jones in the gun room and he will probably be able to direct you. Off the top of my head I know of a club at callow hill that meet every other Sunday (near grafton pub) - Guy I work with is a member there. And one not too far from Holm Lacey (Checkley Clay Club but I heard the guy who runs it died recently - may be the one WW is referring to) - not sure it the club continued afterwards. There was a club at Allensmore that I went to about 15 years ago but I heard they moved, not sure if still going.

Katash
I think Holme Lacey have a few traps of their own also.
oldfarmer
Hi Verminator, I own South Worcester Shooting Ground just the other side of the Malvern Hills from you. www.swsg.co.uk. I come to holm Lacy every couple of years to lecture the coarse on the evolution of firarms - I usually bring along a trap or two on some different black powder guns for the students to get a first hand experience. Some of the students come over to my ground now and again. We have 20 stands or so set up - two towers - a 60ft and a 110 foot with around 30+ traps in all. As well as sporting we have DTL. We are open every Wednesday, Friday and alternate Sundays. Give me a call if you need any more info or have a word with Richard Clark who has my contact details. Cutter - was a great guy and put in a great deal of effort organising the Herefordshire clubs. It was as sad loss when he died and his club closed. Squash wavy
You aren't an unreasonable distance from Griffin Lloyd. A fave of mine. It's so vast you drive between stands! http://www.griffinlloyd.co.uk
