Blunderbust
I have just checked again and found it on the same page but it seems to be only offered on some of the other models and in .22 only.
Whitebridges
If it's any help page 8 of the "Hunting line 2014" brochure shows the Anschutz triggers available. http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.php5?menu=229&sprache=1 Trigger 5098 is the two stage trigger to get, I think for the 1517. The standard trigger is very fine for use in the field it would seem. However at the very bottom of the trigger table it says. " ** Trigger 5097 D: Trigger weight adjustable from 2.20 – 4.41lbs. The trigger weight can be reduced to 0.99 – 1.54 lbs by installation of the spring 002946, which is regularly installed in trigger 5098". This infers that the 5098 trigger could be set to a higher pull weight by changing / working on the spring. Two stage trigger options for the 1517 are very limited. It would appear that the delightful two stage trigger used on the 1417 .22LR will not drop straight in to the 1517. I could be wrong on this. Anyway time will tell. I think I now a man you can put this unit in and get it spot on. Fingers crossed. Edited April 28, 2014 by Whitebridges
Dead-Eyed Duck
The trigger on the 1417 will fit into the 1517. I bought both guns at the same time, and later sent the 1517 hmr trigger unit to frank Dykes and they sent me back a 1417 trigger. This was some years ago, and the cost was c. £65 I then set both triggers to exactly the same pull length/weight, and now there is no difference whatsoever between firing both guns. Perfect :good:
telf
yes i to am under the impression the 1417 trigger will fit into the 1517 as its a 64 action in both guns, and as for the spring you mentioned that is what dykes must have put into the 1517 single stage trigger i sent them a couple of years back which made it a 2 stage as in the 1417,price was £45ish

Perfect :good: I've had my 1417 for a good few years. Not so much now, but it used to said of cars that you didn't appreciate just how much things - steering, brakes, etc - were wearing until something was replaced and then it all felt like new. Well, it happens to rifles too! While messing about with the 1517, I thought I'd just check the 1417. The trigger weight wasn't too far out, but the sear engagement was really excessive. This has now been reset to the makers spec' and for the sake of a couple of minutes, I've got a new rifle.
Whitebridges
All good fun fellas. The single stage trigger is pretty good but I thought to try and get something in the "excellent" bracket. So will give it a go. Anschutz have just released a straight pull .17hmr with a two stage trigger. So if my experiment goes tits up, i'll put in for a variation and get it done off the peg so to speak. It's interesting reading all the downsides on the internet and forums such as PW as to the .17hmr. I think it's taken for granted and for me and the shooting I do it is just perfect in a lot of situations! So i'll persevere my friends and keep you posted.
