death from below
As there appears to be a fair splattering of essex bods in these forums it would be a laugh to meet up over a few jars and plan some shooting days. If anyone in the essex area fancies it(or anywhere else local) then get some posts on and we'll arrange a meet......A pub for an informal PI** up would be a good starter No mackems allowed (being an exhiled Geordie as I am). - or chavs DFB

Bagsy
Hi, I'd be up for a meet one day - sounds like a good idea. I usually shoot in Dartford as it is central for the group I meet with but also use Essex Shooting Ground and more recently Waltham Abbey - hope to see you at one of them one day. B. Suffolk shooter
Get yourself along to the PW meet-up at Lakenheath on Friday 2nd March, there should be about twenty plus going and the craic will be outrageous. Failing that we could always have a meetup at the Fenns at Braintree, or Parkford, on way to Clacton. SS
stubby
alot of the above mentioned places seem like clay shoots to me (or am I wrong ) so think a pub would be better as a meet up point as first suggested as there are some of us "essex" who use ferrets or air rifles rather that shotties

Beaky
Hi Folks, I'm located in Enfield and I'd be up for a meet, sounds like a good idea. I usually (well actually used to) rough shoot in Surry but we lost our farm last year, so would be good to learn where/what available in our neck of the woods Cheers
Evil Elvis
Hmmm, sounds cool, I wont be able to do march the 2nd as Im going to fish a reservior in scotland on the 3rd, but id be up for a future meeting!!! As long as you lot dont take the **** out of my clay shooting as Im new to it. Would love to find a 'real' pigeon shoot nearer home, i have a shoot in loughton but would like one closer, i live in Corringham.
Lucky
With this much interest we must be able to sort something soon Colin
death from below
Seeing that I got the ball rolling on this I reckon I should start the first of the suggestions.....as has been pointed out we may not all be clay shooters so I reckon a meet in a pub would be a good start. Also I reckon it is a good guess that people will need a bit of an advanced warning for a meet.....so may i start by suggesting a time date of friday the 23rd of March in the evening.....say 19.30......now for the venue.... I do enjoy a beer and to let the train driver do the work in getting me home.....so how about Shenfiled as a meeting point.....I do not have a clue as to what the pubs are like close to the station but if people are agreeable to the venue/date etc then I am sure I can do a forward recce and sort out a suitable venue. Mind you if I was being totally selfish I would suggest Billericay.....good pubs....good curry houses/kebabs/chinese.....good transport routes....blah blah blah Again these are only a suggestion so let the discussion begin. Mungler
I live half a mile from Shenfield station however meeting up first time at a shooting ground works best. My local ground (Bush Farm) is 1.2 miles from Shenfield Station on the Rayleigh Road opposite the Saxtons garage - the Rayleigh road runs from Shenfield to Billericay. Shooting there is Saturday mornings 10 am to 2 p.m.
