Twistedsanity
I can buy a brand new combi boiler for under £500, for £4k I would want a gold plated one fitted and my gas bill payed for a year !
Tim Kelly
There are plenty of people out there that will throw a boiler in for nothing money, but they're never interested in going back to service it and look after it long term. The boilers never last long as the system is dirty and the boilers, especially cheap ones, get clogged up and need repairing. I work in a small area and reputation is everything. I always do the best job I can with the installation and as a result the boilers tend to last well. Good boilers well fitted are a better bet in the long run. . Just get one with a long warranty aswell. 5-7 years is the norm at the min. Just make sure you get the system cleaned properly. Have a magna clean or something similar fitted and serviced every year for the warranty. I would personally go for a 30kw boiler have the heating side of it downrated as necessary. Should take a couple of days to swap it all over.

Del T
At the end of the day its a waste of time trying to guess what it will cost without actually seeing the job. We've done combi installs in just over half a day, and some combi installs in almost a week because every job is different. Yes some prices are expensive eg British gas, but there again they only use the best boilers and controls. You can't compare a 400quid boiler to a 1k Worcester Bosch. Just like you can't compare a hatsan to a Blaser.
snozzer
Conventional to comb, with a worcester bosch and 10yr guarantee about 3k
bear-uk
My Worcester Bosch 30CDi + wireless control cost me £1200 trade. It was fitted in a different position in the same room. No rads, flushing etc. Time wise was 2 days, although he didn't rush. No fitting price as i did work for him as payment, You need to find out what the daily rate is and how long to fit in your property.
