Kennel for a lab and a springer

Only have a springer at the moment, but the plan is to get a lab or another springer one day.

I have just moved house and I'm planning on putting in a new "better looking" kennel in the very small garden, and figured I might as well get one that will do the job for them both when I have them. I've spoken to a couple of manufacturers and have had a fair bit of advice. One advised me that their standard single kennel which is 1.2x2.4m with a sleeping box (that they can get on top of) would be plenty for the two, given that they don't generally exercise in their run anyway. Spoken to a couple of mates who agree. I guess it seems a bit small to me.

What to the pigeon watch massive think??

Neaversons of Peakirk near Peterborough do some great kennels. As far as I know they supply the armed forces and police, The one I bought was a single with built in run and was what seemed a lot of money 19 years ago, but it's still in very good condition. Money well spent.

Its a tricky one. My dog currently gets 45mins to an hour at 7 and the same again at 7 in the evening. I try to come home at lunch as well and let her have a scoot around the garden, but that's not something I do everyday. I would have thought something a bit bigger would be required for two, but most people seem to think that it's enough space.

I should be more concerned about two dogs together in such as space were one cannot back off if trouble ever raises its head. 12 hours is a long time to leave two dogs in such a space. Don't count the space on top of the box, I have yet to have a dog use it despite what the manufacturer said

I have an 8x4 kennel sleeping area is about 3x4 of that from Duchy kennels. I have a collie and a Springer I think it's enough space for them. They mainly live in the house but go in the kennel during the day when at work and the Mrs goes out. We have left them overnight before no problems. A dog won't exercise on its own they just sleep, all they need is a place to sleep and go toilet. Our dogs get on very well so them fighting is not really a concern.
