billytheghillie
My 3 year old cocker is fat! I have halfed his food and cut out tit bits. He gets a denta stick and 2 Markies every day plus half a small bowl of food. He is walked regulary. Help!
JBS
What food? How often is regular? How much does he actually weigh? Are you weighing his food? Would all help my cocker gets fat easy on some foods and very skinny on others without changing anything but the food and that's even the same brand but a different type Edited May 23, 2014 by JBS
fenboy
When you say walked do you mean walked or exercised ? , a walk is not much exercise , they need a good run off lead . The solution is fairly simple , he is either not getting enough work / exercise or he is eating too much
Ollieollie
My springer puts weight on ultra fast, if I've worked away for a week and the other half has been in charge of walking I can see the diff when I get back. He gets normal portions at feeding time but I give him at least an hour a day and then usually four hours sat morning an two hours Sunday with other bits in between where possible, that keeps him in good nick, he's a big unit anyway. As fenboy mentioned there is different types of walking! Good luck Ollie
Actionpigeons
reduce the food, its as simple as that. All my dogs get half the food during the summer months compared with when they are in work. Try a good bone rather than denta sticks.
