Tinribz
Got a bit of a dilema for tomorrow loads of birds coming into my pea field but the nearest hedge is 200 yds of the flightline ive shot from this hedge as does everyone else who shoots it but the best place is across in the middle of the field thats where 80 % of the birds are feeding the strongest line they follow is from the wood up the wind and they drop in about half way up there are birds coming from the other wood in which everyone sets up im thinking about setting up in the middle to me thats the best spot i can see birds coming from all directions as its on the up slope of a valley anyone got any thoughts on this as ive allways gone with the hedge and easy concilement option ive got plent of net and a fishing umbella to hide my outline Cheers
ditchman
i dont have a problem with setting up in the middle of a field..personaly i wouldnt do it in a pea field as it can cause more damage than the pigeons.....once you crush a pea plant i dought if it will come back.........best ask the farmer what you need to do......he will apreaciate the fact you are mindful of his crop...is it worth putting a gas gun out where you dont want the birds ? fenboy
I would set up in the middle , go where the birds want to be rather than where you want the birds to be . I do try to site the hide along some tramlines if possible.
