BRNDL - I previously thought you had more common-sense. I appear to have made a mistake.

A court has sent him to prison for stabbing someone - 5 years - it is very serious, yet some seem to think this is acceptable. According to the OP he has "been a man" and admitted it fully. If that is true, he will have been given credit for an early guilty plea. Had he run a trial, his sentence would have been much longer. That should give some a clue as to just how bad it was.

I haven't a clue why the OP gave details of the offence - it added nothing - but then declines to give full details. Based on the flimsy details, I am happy to sit in judgement and say he has no place near firearms.

Can we have all the pieces of the puzzle?? Then??

If not why not?

There's no doubt about the answer being no with regards the op's question. It does amaze me though that there are some here who can come to conclusions that are in their heads correct, without having all the pieces of the puzzle. It has been proven before that putting your faith in the justice system is somewhat optimistic.

You can't really expect to put some thing up like this!!

Not give out the full info!!

And not expect people to be judgemental!!

There are some cases where stabbing some one I can understand!!

I.e defending yourself from some one attacking you so on.

But realistically in that situation would you have been given 5 years??? I don't know I hope not!!!

So I doubt it.

All I'm trying to say give every one the facts or let them be judgemental!

Because on the facts we have!! Its a NO and a Definite No!! And should not be allowed near one.

Sounds a bit harsh but got no other info to base my opinion on....

The OP asked a question

He didn't want to go into further details as is his right

He has been given the correct answer which is no unless he wishes to go to court and appeal it.

To stop any further arguments we can put this to bed
