Fieldsports
Its not often that I will boost a product but to be honest I simply can not fault this one.I rang George from Proper Cartridges and simply told him what I wanted.I needed a super fast cartridge to get some Magpies bothering me and that I would be shooting in a wood area where there is only small gaps at tree tops to shoot, and I can't give much lead as its a snap shooting situation. He did not blow on about all the cartridges he does, he answered yes pop up and try a slab of these at a good price with no messing about.I can honestly say these are as fast if not faster than RC Snipe, in all fairness these are maybe the fastest thing I have had for some time.Blot the target out pull the trigger and down it comes.I tried these on a ridiculously long range woody as well about 65 yards and bingo hit it and it was stone dead.He advised me to use open chokes with this load and he was not wrong.Has to be worth mentioning his site when he sells good stuff like this.http://propercartridges.com/index2.php
evo
excellent news,, why did you feel the need to use 4.5,s surely 5,s or 6,s would have done,, I need to get in touch as I,m after a 1000 32g 5,s for the crows but would like to try them first, I,ve been using Hull superfast 6,s and they work superb but have also been using 28g 7 1/2,s at around 30yrds and these have been stopping them dead but sometimes I have had to put a second into them as they are so tuff, can I ask what you paid for them cheers Evo edit,,,,,ps I noticed they are plastic wad,,do they do them in fibre Edited July 17, 2014 by evo

motty
How could you tell how fast they were?! There is no way you can just blot out a target and kill it, unless it is stationary, head on/ going away, or if it's very close. A 4.5 would certainly not be my first choice size for magpies. Guest cookoff013
first of all, its not the "super fastness- ness" that did the job. its the fact they are 4.5s and they whack targets down. that is why they performed well. i am not dissing any of Georges products at all, i hear they are an excellent product. those 4s maintain more energy downrange. looking at a datatable for lead, comparing..energies at 40yards.. a #4 subsonic has little more energy than 1500fps #6 at 40 yards. thats why i picked #4s for subsonics. i didnt pick 3s or 2s or 1s, its 4s minimum. now, 4s at 1300-1400fps (thats @2.5M chrono) is an awesome cartridge. i doubt many here have tried 4 / 2 etc on game, @op, no-one needs a superfast cartridge, but i`m glad it worked for you. Why not 4.5 motty in my opinion I'd give a magpie any size shot be it bb I would shot it a dead magpie better than a live one
propercartridges
hi all I get people all the time coming to me with a box of carts saying for some reason they were good but cant get them any more or they r too expensive can I have a look at them and see what I can do so I pop 10 in the condioner for a day and set it for 1 day or maybe more then I usually shoot 6 to 10 through the ballistic gear for speed and pressure I then look at the powder and shot or see if there is a metric size on the box of shot 2.7 or 2.9 ect ect and then work up the said load using the wads powders I have to see if I can get anywhere what has been brought to me by the person then I proceed to refine them to at least to conform to cip as many r not!!! these above hi speed r doing 415 meters at 2.5 on the speed screen been set at 2 foot apart the measurement been 2.5 meters from the end of the gun to a centre of the speed screen with a pressure of 615 bar after been settled a couple of days after nearly 15 months of testing before I introduce a cart on the market these are certainly good to go I run a sweety shop and I try to give people what they want people at this moment are mad on speed so that's what I try to give them these carts work believe me but I would say no more than half choke up to about 40 yards for very high driven go a bit higher on choke thanks all the rate for these is 210 pounds per thousand plastic wads still working on fiber will let you know when ready thanks all george

propercartridges
hi again just a few of your good people often ask me about shot sizes well my way of looking is that I buy loccatelli tower dropped shot I think its the best if any body knows of anything else please let me know and its in metric sizes Italian carts r nearly always printed with the shot size on them example Italian 6 is a 2.7 which to my reckoning of a 5.5 so hence been English I use the English sizing so the Italian 5 is to me a 4.5 ie 2.9 have a look its there the amount of people that say to me oooh I don't want 4.5 then I say well you r shooting them now thanks george

Bit loathe to give a figure but the tables would suggest a 55 yard range everything being equal.
