kent
Who knows, but i do know that the 2 geese I had the other morning didn't apprieciate the new choke Yeah I was so impressed that I stepped up my ranges in keeping with what I saw in patterning. Bad move as I started getting well but light hit birds (if the dog was quicker I could have started a wildfowl collection LOL)what they certainly do is give better kills within the normal range window
motty
Barrel length with modern powders makes no difference. I bought some after market extended chokes in 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4 - and full all are marked suitable up to BBB Steel Shot. Now having read all the can't/can with Steel Shot I've had these measured with a choke gauge and all of them measure the same constriction as Lead chokes !!!!! Would I use steel through more than 1/2 choke with flush mounted chokes or fixed chokes !!! NO But I would check all your Aftermarket Chokes as you could be surprised as I was They may be the same constriction, but not necessarily made from the same materials. What kind of choke gauge did you use to measure them?
TIGHTCHOKE
when you guys talk of choke are you meaning half choke lead or half choke steel ? HALF Choke is usually 20 thousandths of an inch tighter than the bore.
