the enigma
Has anyone brought a Boyd's stock in from the States recently. What is the typical cost of shipping and import tax? Cheers

the enigma
Thanks lads. That sound's like good value............ I'd come across a couple of uk sites that will supply Boyd stocks but are asking for £175/£180 for the Evolution stock. I got one about 3 months ago, it took 21 days from order until I collected it from Parcel Force. All in it cost me £129. Very nice, that's the colour I've got in mind. mikejt
That's the stock I got for my cz 455. Import tax was about £18 I think. Really pleased with it. Sold my original thumbhole stock for £

welshwarrior
I would buy it very soon if it is still available, nearly all of the worlds laminate gunstocks are made from a material called stratabond and see here; http://www.timesargus.com/article/20140822/NEWS03/708229933 For what happened to the rutland plywood factory at the end of last month. I would expect some serious impact across the industry! Boyd make a lot of stocks for many companies on their own and things like remington, cz and others that show stratabond stocks along with companies like GRS which use it are going to have to come up with new sources very fast i would expect. That's not good.
Traztaz
Are you referring to the Rutland plant being ashes Traztaz? Yes mate, I can see this having quite a knock on effect
