joeh917
A few weeks ago one of my cats killed a baby rat and a few days later it killed another one though this one was nearer to fully grown. Can a rat do a cat any serious injury because if a human is bitten by one you would need to go straight to hospital.
figgy
Rats can and do serious tissue damage to both cats and dogs faces as they do battle, the cat or dog will usually win. It's disease and infection you need to be watchful of. Figgy
loriusgarrulus
Your cat and dogs vaccinations should keep it clear of a lot of things rats carry. That's why its particuly important to keep ratting terriers up to date on vaccs. You need to keep an eye out for bite wounds as they can soon cause an abscess. Townie1
Our cat regularly kills and eats them. The vet told us that bitten paws is a problem because they bat the rat into position for the kill. He eats squirrels and woodpigeons too. fenboy
You have to be careful as the rat is able to breed with felines , the outcome is not pretty.
