daystate 177
Have you had a look at the throttle position sensor? Could be a number of things fuel pump fuel lines the said sensor
bluesj
Is it a diesel, if so id change the fuel filter first. A lot of ***** fuel about!
aris
Plug car into an ODB2 type diagnostic device and do a scan. You can buy the kit for this which plugs into a laptop for about 15 pounds. If any sensors have flagged up an error, it should show up there. HDAV
Turbo? Diesel? Any warning lights? Sounds like it may be intake related? Possibly a split turbo hose clogged air filter or a collapsing hose the rubber turbo pipes perish and the suction of the turbo collapses the hose and strangles the engine, damaged inter cooler is another one. If petrol check the plugs and HT leads, leads perished cracked? Plugs worn, coated? Air filter also.
deershooter
If it's petrol it is likely to be the Air mass flow sensor Deershooter
lurchers
Ive got a d4d rav4 mate and mine goes into limp mode when i go up this big hill near my house (well it has twice ive been up it)i put it on a mate laptop in a garage and it came up with this code, stating it could be the turbo or a sensor.as i serviced it and it still does a little miss when im on a flat road and need to accelerate then takes off but not all the time it does it. norfolk dumpling
Check fuel filter - bought a Fourtrac a few years back. 2/3 years old and in excellent nick but main dealer never changed fuel filter. Part cost about 50p but not nice when you hit a motorway and discover car won't go more than 60 mph!!
HDAV
Also heard of rotten back box doing this excess back pressure as the wadding was stuffing up the tail pipe impeding flow
HAYBURN
had this with a broken catalytic converter, had broken up and was restricting exhaust flow and vehicle would lose power more so when going up hill..
