figgy
They look to be the best 3 1/2" semi auto you can buy. The chequering is deep and sharp to be gripped even when muddy on foreshore or marsh.
Guest stevo
popped in tonight to see a farmer for a natter and a cuppa , showed him my new gun , to which he replied , " great stuff , pop over there and shoot those bloody crows , they have been making a racket all day " so popped in there for about 30 mins , any way as you can see , the new gun definitely works picture https://www.dropbox.com/sc/odpkjo8actxuruf/AAAryQdvDqF7vhx4QH7Rh-Tva Edited September 25, 2014 by stevo

There are other guns i feel to be better than the a300 xtrema (not saying the Beretta is a bad gun at all here) but i would not say its the best out there

motty
You don't have to thank me, Stevo. I may buy one myself one day, but my xtrema 1 has plenty of life left in it and I shoot quite well with it.

But this has everything you could want in a wildfowling semi auto. The best bits from Berettas current and past model semi autos brought together with a redesigned chequering pattern to suit fowling conditions. So what would your choice be to the best semi auto be? Your sir are a legend for the " nod and the wink " The A300 Xtrema would be the perfect replacement for yours . Only in the sense of . Your feel like you have been shooting it for yrs . Its so handles so much like the xtrema / ulrika 2 its unreal .But yours motty is built like tanks mate so i rekon it be a good few yrs yet before you feel the need to change . figgy
Spoke the RFD who I bought my gun off today he has confirmed he has two more of the uk stock of these new A300 Xtremas coming into his shop and maybe getting a camouflage one as well. He originally asked for five or six of them but only twelve came into the country. Great news for anyone fancying a new semi auto for Wildfowling and pigeon shooting. Wildfowler325
its all about opinions mate , and im not knocking yours . but what would you say was ? have you seen an A300 xtrema to be able to compare , like I say I fully respect what your saying , im just curious For me i feel the the Versamax is a better semi, just my opinion but i feel that it swings better than the Berettas. I shot a A400 before buying my Versamax and it didnt feel right for me. Also another good gun i feel is a Browning Maxus, shot quite a lot withone and feel it a great gun too, but for my money id rather have a Versamax. Just feel its a better allround gun for Wildfowling and Pigeon shooting than the berettas. The Versamax has the Beretta on features i feel. The versamax has a moulded Supercell comb insert and pad which reduces recoil, and shock through the face greatly. Also i feel the overmoulded rubber grip panels grip better when wet than checkering, and Remington Versaport gas system is fantastic in my opinion. Its really clean and very simple so nothing to wrong. There's no springs or seals in the gas system to go wrong Just my opinion and i respect your thoughts on the Beretta A300, is a great gun too but just not for me If you dont mind i could upload pic's of the Versamax's gas system to compare to the beretta's Atb W325

I do know that Fenboy on here has one and he speaks very highly of it , and I do respect his views . however I must confess to being a total Beretta tart :-) the reason I bought mine is many yrs ago I had an extrema an loved it . and this new upgraded version just ticks all of my boxes , I have been out with it today and was shooting everything from 24 gram 65 mm shell to 32 gram RC sipe and it was faultless , best bit I shot like a demon with it , so I feel I made the right choice for me . it would be a boring old world if we all had the same . figgy
Wildfowler325 we all have our opinions as to what semi we think best. I've shot a sx3 for two seasons and tried a Maxus both were good but didn't fit me right. This new A300 I've just got my hands on is just something else. No felt recoil with three inch carts and very little with 3 1/2" 42g BB carts I felt the kick off reset after letting lose the big carts. The pad is a micro cell, probably the same as Versamax different name. The chequering is so grippy me and Stevo were laughing if we slipped over it would be hard to let go of the gun It's like sodding Velcro not really a chequered pattern as such but more computer designed pattern molded into the stock and forend, it is designed to be grippy even with muddy hands and it is, I cleaned plenty off mine last night when I got home from wildfowling with it. It's the best semi auto I've ever shot. I've handled a Versamax but not shot one so can only go on that. If anyone gets a chance to have a go with one do so. I'm over the moon I got one, my RFD I got mine through has a few more on order and is expecting them soon. He is based in Richmond North Yorkshire. figgy
Wildfowler325 after I noticed your posts on the Remington Versamax you have, I looked online and refreshed my memory of the system. Got to say its radical, using three rows of vents in the chamber so the cart length dictates which holes are covered and which ones are used to vent the gas for operation. Very clever design, if you and others are happy with them they done it right. I needed a better fitting semi auto with less recoil as my shoulder has some old damage that has started playing up the last couple of years. After owning Berettas and knowing they fit me the new improved best of old and new guns model was a no brainer. Figgy
