manthing
Hi all, The chap that owns my main permission has a small pool that about a half dozen of us fish. The other day we were talking and he mentioned that someone had approached him about day tickets. Now atm there's just a few pallets as pegs where we fish from but if he wants to open it up he will put some decent decking pegs in. The big question is does anybody know at what point does the disabled access thing come in? Is it a certain number of pegs? Or does anybody know of a place/website that would contain such information. Thanks for reading The thing that's almost a man ;-)
bluesj
I haven't got a clue but would be interested to know as we were talking about it at a clay shoot (my son had a broken pelvis at the time) and it was decided that if they were forced to make the site wheel chair friendly the shoot would have to close because of the cost but if someone in a wheelchair contacted them and wanted to shoot they would do some thing to make it possible for them to have a go even if that meant 4 blokes carrying them and their chair but would probably obviously struggle if it was a on going thing. Aled
Have a look at the British Disabled Anglers web site, all the info you need will probably be there. Our club put in a disabled casting plaform and took our design from there. Tight Lines Aled

Mr pigeon
Is it not better for you guys to form a syndicate rather than have every Tom down there, all abilities etc?
Spaniel
If he does day tickets then he will have to have planning permission for the pond/lake You would be better off setting up your own syndicate and offering a payment per annum plus the advantage for the owner is that he does not have to be available to issue day tickets What reason do you mention disabled platforms
Spaniel
It's not just about the disabled platform what about access etc I'm sure there is other legislation to consider I would just add larger platforms for easier access for people to use
Jay_Russell
Other things to consider is access, planning permision, insurances, arbolutions inc dissabled, bins. Bailiffing it. If its just a small lake then will he get the revenue to cover all the costs? At most he will onky get 5-10 pounds per day per angler unless its got some 30 pound carp of a decent strain
