pbutd Posted September 29, 2014 Report Share Posted September 29, 2014 ..who hasn't been through this before?Watched 4 good stubble fields all week & got there early Sat am.-sit in truck & watch-find 'the' spot-draw up -unload mountain of kit-start to set up & two tractors arrive in that one field-had a chat =we're going to trim hedges & cultivate at same time & hoping to do all 4 fields!Back in truck (now 10.45)- do 3 hours of driving around all likely stubbles- find one towards 2pm.that has 20-30 feeding-phone farmer who answers but is in an auction yard & cannot hear me-promises to phone back-15 mins later have chat & get permission- Dairy farm- gate-gate -gate- get to what looks like good spot-set up -park truck- 2 birds in ten minutes & then NOTHING!Pack up -fetch truck- gate -gate -gate-last ditch look at 3 more fields-(now gone 3pm.)- find wheat stubble with 100+ feeding at far end BUT with farmer on matbro trimming trees at road end of field- have a chat & set up at base of tree facing away from matbro etc but with (now low) sun in face.Good action for 2 hours (53)- knackered & dehydrated by the end...http://youtu.be/Dl-gCPFm6ZQ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
