As fun is the order of the day I would suggest Braintree or Lakenheath then. Braintree I have just remembered is only open until 12noon (Something to do with Wedding receptions etc. held at the hall next door), so means an early start if you want to go there to ensure you get a good round in, but will also be extremely busy on a saturday.

Lakenheath, although out of the way for most of the others, is larger and open until 5.00pm s is a better choice.

Braintree is 1pm finish isn't it?

We'll have to go easy on the hommmmmmm's Lads. The forum's starting to sound like a tibetan Monk's temple. I can see us all turning up to the Essex Masters, having had our heads shaved and wearing Orange robes next. ;) :(

I have no preference for either ground so long as we show alison that we have some good shoots down this neck of the woods.

Cat,

Suffolk book of excuses ??? , I don't need an excuse to be **** mate, it comes naturally. :P???

Seriously though, I was thinking about your post regarding physical exercise whilst going round Lakenheath. I noticed that my left forearm, was starting to struggle abit as the day went on. So I am going to start do a bit of weight's on that arm. Not sure if it may have been me over tensing the arm, as opposed to weaking muscle though. The gun I was using is light enough, but even so, it can't do any harm can it.

Right arm like Popeye but the left one is struggling?

Must fight irrestiable urge to make obvious jokes about swapping over...

SS,

It can't do you any harm to try and tone up a weak muscle, otherwise it will let you down on the final few stands.

It takes a lot to shoot 2 x 100 bird comps in one day, and maintain fulll concentration throughout, plus a few goes on the excellent Compak pool shoot layout they have there, folks will be flagging when they need the most effort.

I dont know what grapevine you have been listerning to but the only thing thats hot when i shoot is the barrel, looks like i will have to learn to shoot skeet as well only had a go a few times and can never remember the sequence <_<

If 17 is **** then i wont be doing much laughing. ;) .

Looks like we are off to Lakenheath then, what time do we all want to meet up?

Right Lakenheath it is then. Opens for shooting at 10am, but we can get there before hand 9.30ish or later if you prefer.

Just checked website and no competition on the 24th, so sounds good, although they have a CPSA registered shoot on the sunday so it may mean a few people out on the saturday practising.

What ever time suits you alison, I am happy to go with the flow. They have four skeet ranges there so we should be able to get on one of them at least. If we do 6 birds on each Sporting stand (19 if all open) we could do 114 birds sporting and 25 on skeet for 139. (Note to Mungler, I used a calculator for this to make sure I was right. ??? )

Mungler,

You up for a rematch then mate? We might ask MC along but seeing as he's shooting AA class nowdays :( , he'll be in a league of his own. Swapping arms by the way, don't you do that anyway <_<

Any others out there fancy a trip out. FG.22 see if FB111 feels like coming.

No excuses from me on the skeet this time, i will bring the Miroku along to ensure I miss more :P???

I was thinking about staying over, might as well turn in for an early night so I can be refreshed and ready for the 100 birder on the Sunday :(

Yeay, yeah, what ever ;)

If only I could use that excuse, shame I live 30mins from the ground.

Just spoke to Alison, and seems like 11am is the preferred time, so if anybody else is wanting to go, just shout.

LB you're due a do-over after missing last Friday, Pre-advance warning mate. SATURDAY 24TH MARCH 2007 AT 11.00AM

Don't let Pin stay over - not with alcohol & Pole Dancers on hand..!!

I suppose the upside is that he won't be able to hit a cows *** with a shovel on the Sunday, so SS's 17 on the skeet range will look pretty good. <_<

Have a great time folks, shame I can't make it, I'll still be celebrating my birthday the day before.

I might have a pass for this - I thought it clashed with Mothers Day but then I double checked the dates and realised that there aren't many men that brave on this forum.

Also, I want to swing by Cambridge and pick up a Larsen Trap and I can kill two birds with one stone if you'll parden the pun.
