Maddaftspaniel
We have a lot of old barley stubbles up here and there is a large flock of birds feeding on one of my farms, problem is they don't seem to commit to any one area! When you walk them off they just ****** off onto another field. I shot a couple yesterday and their crops were full of barley and chickweed
JDog
steveyg and I had that last week. The flock had 400 birds in it and when we pushed them off they went into an adjacent field. Last Thursday when I was passing the flock was still there but I have learnt my lesson and I will not be attempting to decoy them again. 7daysinaweek
on saturday had a do at woodies on some old savoy cabbage, found i was pushing them off to other parts of the large field and birds coming in drawn to different parts. i noticed a strong flightline across adjacent stubble coming onto cabbage, moved there at far end of stubble and ended up with quite a bit more action. The difference here was that they where commiting to the cabbage. yeh that the thing when there on stubbles with chickweed in etc in they can just lift in one mass and move to next. happy days chaps
