Dominicrobed
Hello This is a question only to people who own a pair of le chameau chasseur wellies. I currently have a pair of muck boots and they are just plain un comfortable. I really like the look of the le chameau's and was wondering are they comfortable ? Do they wear well ? I'm not interested if there is another make of wellie that is cheaper / better just about owners of the above opinions Thank you
rtaylor
They are comfy, for wellies, depends how much walking you do in them. A day Pheasant beating is about as much as I'd want to do in them. I had a pair of the limited edition ones, they lasted about 3-4 years. I did wear them quite a bit so I guess it's not too bad although I would have like a bit longer. If you do get some I would advise regularly using the rubber condition and lubricating the zip. Also if you get farm muck on them, wash it off as it rots the natural rubber.

Iv heard its a good idea to use the rubber conditioner , did you use their own brand ?
rtaylor
Yeah they are good for that. My biggest niggle is they don't really last much longer than any other pair but 2 or 3 times the cost. Yeah I did use they own brand stuff. I always look after boots really well for a year or so then get a bit lax. I'd also stress on the zip lube, they do fail quite quickly if they get full of mud and grit. Flashman
Well made and comfortable, but a premium product. Most gear is cheaply-produced and fairly disposable nowadays. These are now too expensive to risk near barbed wire fences, thick brambles, etc.

SEshooter
Very comfy and warm, I'm on my second pair in 2 years though. The soft rubber pierce easily
jimmyb79
wrecked a pair last year by getting thorns in the sole which caused them to push mud upwards into the footbed. But still bought another pair because I love them so much!
Konnie
mine have just split after about 6 yrs wear them quite a lot through winter months and on the land when wet, find them very comfy but expensive looking at alternatives
SO3isme
I've had one pair for about 10 years - the manufacturer has replaced them twice under guarantee! Very comfortable.
JJsDad
Cracking boots. Mine are now in their 5th year and are used most Saturdays during the season. Very comfortable and there seem to wear better than the cheap stuff. As previously stated, they should be cleaned up periodically and the zip flushed out. I then use the Chameau spray on the zip and the rubber. They are good, but the current price is a bit eye watering. Got a bit off mine at the Game Fair as my mate wanted a pair of the neoprene ones at the same time.. Guest rimotu66
Similar to others, Ive had my Neoprene ones 6 years now but will need replacing after this season, I really have not looked after them and the soles are nearly worn flat, the back of the ankles have started to crack but the zips have never been a problem, very comfy and very warm. Would I buy another pair? Yes if I could get them for the £150 I paid for this pair.
