BattleFieldRelics
Just sold my lads hatson escort junior semi. It would jam 4 - 8 times on average when shooting 50 rounds at clays. Bought a beretta now.
fruitloop
I think nay Sayers need to go out and try one of these guns .as there a totally different gun to the s/a .but what do you get for the 450-600 well you get single selective trigger a mechanical not the recoil system to reset the trigger for the second barrel. multi chokes. ejectors . easy see top bead and adjustable stock. steel proofed and 3 years warranty Edited November 16, 2014 by fruitloop
phaedra1106
I've had one for a few years, nice tight action. Only problem has been with some wear on one of the internal parts, Edgar Bros sent me a free replacement part but it was worn as well. Managed to get it to work though. There's a thread on here about it http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/288990-anyone-with-a-hatsan-optima-ou/?hl=optima
hatsanmad
I love me auto that being the extrememax 3&1/2in chamber it cycles any thing i put through it. People dont realise that yes hatsan started out with a medieoca product but in the last two years there have been huge improvments and now there products are very good not the best but please dont take this the wrong way but im not asking for opinions on the autos as i have the auto and happy its there over under im asking about. Sorry dont mean to offend with that but as much as i would love a berreta extrema 2 i cant justify the price tag but any way back to topic please any opinions minus the last two regarding the silver select over under they do please? Phaedra1106 what part wad it that worn and needed replacing please?

Its a beretta style action without the finesse and synth ones seemed to be a copy of the cynergy (that was a roaring success ! not). Tried it dont like it, if you want a cheap do all OU pay a bit more or buy quality secondhand. http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Franchi_Shotgun_Alcione_For-Sale_131115135342001 http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Winchester_Shotgun_5000_For-Sale_141015135228001 http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Winchester_Shotgun_Select-Sporter_For-Sale_140930100422001 http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Zoli-Antonio-Co_Shotgun_Silver-Falcon_For-Sale_130511135655168
Westward
Depends what you expectations are. Like dozens of others it's essentially a "Rizzini action" O/U only unlike most, this one's built at the lowest possible price point. I doubt it would stand up up to heavy usage for very long but for non clay shooting duty it would probably be fine - as long as you're not too fussy about niceties like clean trigger pulls and barrel regulation. HDAV
TO be fair the trigger pulls were dire on the one i shot!
fruitloop
The one I have has had thousands of carts through it clay and pigeon .and the trigger is as good as the baretta I have used
phaedra1106
Phaedra1106 what part wad it that worn and needed replacing please? It's the Selector, the front top corner is supposed to be square but the spring pressing on it has worn it off at an angle so the spring slips off the selector causing it to lose pressure and not engage with the hammers above it. This is what it's supposed to look like This is what mine looked like And this is what Edgar Bros sent me It's used as well but bending a "V" in the middle of the spring that sits on the top allows that one to work. Obviously at some stage I will need a new one but I'm not sure if Edgar Bros would be able to supply one. hatsanmad
Thanks pal thats usefull to know. Its mainly going to be my back up gun and game gun. My main gun is my auto for geese pigeon and clays. Looks arent important to me the important part is it reliable it does what i need it to. The only thing i think hatsan need to do is oil the stock. phaedra1106
I have a Mk1 semi bought in 2007, works perfectly The O/U is a synthetic stock, looks perfectly OK to me, nothing dropping off it despite a few years of not particularly careful handling, action is nice and tight and hits whatever I point it at (as long as I point it in the right direction!). The one I have is the walnut stock version. Had it two years and use it every week and had no issues at all.
