Rimfireboy
If anybody's interested.......As I had a bit of a mixture of carts in my pocket, I thought I'd try a quick rudimentary pattern test on an old plastic tub I happened on. I tried (left to right) eley 2 inch 6's, lyalvale 2:1/2 inch 9's and below eley fourlong 7's. All at twenty yards. The fourlongs came out by far the better pattern but I didn't expect the 9 gram two inch carts to perform well at that range. The fourlongs were the first pattern, then I turned the tub 90% ish, for the next pattern test with the lyalvale. I've hit a few rabbits at similar range with the fourlongs that I usually use and they've been hit pretty hard. Looking at that, I think I'll stick with the fourlongs. Scully
I use Fourlongs in my Mossi 500 .410. We had a play on the clays with it some weeks ago and were all impressed at how well it patterned. Very impressive.

Underdog
#7 & .410 is a great combination. Why stockists favour #6 I will never understand! I have used the 2"ammo on rats recently, ideal to 15 yds in my gun but they were#6! If ever there was a perfect lessen in more is not always better it is a .410 :-) U. Used to knock about in an old boys garden with one of them as a kid, trying to pot most things that moved, and some that didn't.
chris31
.410 is my favourite gun and the one I use 90% of the time! - norica 3 shot and a hushpower mossy. Only just started using eley carts and so far very pleased.
