Westley
Why not get a gunslip with a small side pocket. Keep a couple of chokes say 1/2 and full in their plastic containers in the side pocket and LEAVE them there. After use, clean and put back. I always use the same gunslip for my auto so always have a spare choke with me, plus 1 in the gun. In your case you will always have 2 in the gunslip. motty
Wouldn't that damage the threads or barrel? No.
dougall
No. erm...seen few folk remove chokes at clays without problem.manufacturers etc DO NOT recommend removal, but for a few shots unlikely to do any damage..long run it cannot do the threads any good, and the barrel ends are built to have a choke in so not a long term proposition. brett1985
No. Correct. i first heard of poeple doing this last year and thought it was a joke, but after spending some time on the clay shooting scene, it would seem to be common pratice for alot of shooters. i know of at least 5 people who will remove chokes to shoot incoming clays at short range, and very close rabbits. no ill effects to report as of yet! fieldwanderer
I went to an international match in Germany and realised I'd forgotten the bolt Borrowed a rifle off the German manager but, not very surprisingly, didn't exactly shoot a p.b. I wasn't too popular for that one!
Dougy
I seem to forget what im doing most of the day, or night time for that matter. Sometimes I end up in the middle of a field with my darts expecting a game of 501, Its quite upsetting specially when i end up getting thrashed, Ive not turned up at the local yet with my lamping gear, blimey that could lead to an exiting night. Then i get to the shooting range at Catton and i forget which targets are the Rimfire ones and which are meant for the centre fire. Ah well
