bruno22rf
Just had a new 10 way Consumer board fitted today as our old system was ancient-new Tails and all old earths replaced by new spec wires and all sockets in the house checked. It cost me £350-is that a fair price?
Rupert
With a safety cert? yes I think so. Sparkies make good money.

bruno22rf
Guy came alone and the work looks really tidy-he even fixed a faulty light switch while he was here but no Certificate-should I have one? I know that he is fully qualified by the way as our local school used to use him. Edited December 3, 2014 by bruno22rf
proud dad
Yes, it's a fair price as long as you got an Electrical Installation Certificate, and it is going to be notified to LABC. Can't see your location on my phone so not sure if last bit is relevant.

Not all proper sparkies are certified to give certs, you will prob need ot for any remortgage/house sale. It would not surprise me if this became a get out of jail card for insurance companies at a poop/fan incident in the future.
lexikia
Must be tested as part of part P. It is notifiable work as part of Building regulations state. If not, you have been ripped off. It will cost around£150 - £200 to get it tested. I have C&G 2391, TESTING AND INSPECTION but I still can't certify domestic installations. You have to be member of a recognised trade group such as NICEIC.

Yes with the correct Certs , and it should take ALL day as for the sockets check this should be done on all ccts, it's not just a board fitted and job done we have to do a few more tests , so as for we make good money we earn our money
