pigeonblasterian
Four of us met up for a few hours goose shooting this morning. It was an icy start and cold but carrying the gear to the far side of the field warmed things up. We set up in the dark and waited to see if anything would decoy. We stayed out and shot till just after 1330. There was not a lot about after 11am but sitting in the hide was preferable to us. We still managed to decoy a few and ended up with 19 geese. Only one Canada goose was shot the rest were Greylags. The geese had certainly been making a made a meal of the farmers corn field. Nearly a quarter of the field has been grazed by them. There will be a few more days out to thin them out a bit.
