Guest stevo
Me personally i would go for the .410 hushpower . I love mine and will find any excuse to use it . I seem to get on ok with mine . .As your probably aware the POA will be totally different but you will soon get your head around it once you know where it shoots . Is there any way you could try before you buy?

sitsinhedges
A 20 gauge Husher will give you pretty much the same range as a normal shotgun making things like roost shooting viable. Without wishing to start a peeing contest...
Guest stevo
I can shoot mine out to 30 yrds no problem . It will kill the bird with ease .... As long as you middle them in the pattern .

fenboy
I think you would soon get used to the trigger pull on the investerarm , I struggled with my versamax for a start as it is quite heavy compared to the beretta I had before but i do not even notice it now. sitsinhedges
Is that a double and how quiet is it please ,do you use subs or normal, also hows the trigger pull on that one . cheers It is the Investarm O/U and the cartridges are homeload subsonics. I think 30grams of 5 shot would be pretty hard to beat with a 410 though. Stevo does a damn good job with his without a doubt but that extra shot and larger size does show in my results I think. I've never had a problem with trigger pull on any shotgun but my own a single 20g that does seem a bit heavy if I think too hard about it. Must admit I would like to try out a .410 again sometime I used to own a Pedretti single that I fell out of love with once the larger gauge showed up. Cranfield
I have an Investarm 20ga Hushpower and use it more than any of my 12ga shotguns. As the whole barrel is the moderator, IMO it is easier to use than the pump Hushpowers, which are rather long and I found a bit unwieldy. Its light enough, low sound, no recoil and with 30gms No5 Hushpower cartridges, it is capable of killing everything I go shooting for. It also allows me to shoot in places that were no-go areas with the 12ga, from a disturbance point of view.
Guest stevo
I would have to agree with the above comments about the 20 gauge. I love my .410 however next yr i will bee getting a 20g hushpower mossberg to have a all round selection . Size 5 shot is pretty hard to beat for an all round shot size but thats just my opinion . getthegat
I know this discussion was ages ago, but having had a Mossy 20 for a while and having had varying success (I'm a 50% kill rate is a good day, sort of shooter) I have recently sold it to another PW guy due to the slightly unwieldy length and nose heavy balance. I sometimes walk around my shoots and it was a bit awkward to carry. However, in the hide and on days when I can drive to my hide position, it is great; quiet enough not to scare other birds in the area or neighbors. I even shot out of an empty corn silo once with no ear defenders and it was brilliant. It did take some getting use to and to try and eliminate a few of the issues, I'm going for the Investerarm 20 gauge over/under, so will do a little review comparison once I've had a few days with it. Hopefully the frost will still be aiding the short rape pigeon feeding by the time it arrives.
