Pigeon Shooting On Rape - Hemel Hempstead area

Opportunity for several Guns, either individuals or a group, to try their luck on 300 acres of Rape. The pigeons have been working the area for a week or so now quite steadily, but it is Pigeons on Rape, so no guarantees! Cost is £20/day per gun, and you will need all your own kit. You must be legal and insured. No Saturday shooting as we are still Pheasant shooting on the estate. Drop me a PM for more details/booking.

Cheers,

Pete

Well, it's certainly not the price that's putting them off..

I can vouch for the fact that there are good numbers of birds around in that area, as I shoot nearby, you just need to pick the right day when weather conditions are good with a decent bit of breeze and overcast skies, and ideally when the fields have not been shot hard the day before.

I don't get the entire paying to rid someone of vermin angle myself , this is by far the cheapest offer so far that I have seen but still seems wrong to use my money, guns, carts equipment etc to do a job that the farmer should be paying someone to do, I get that game and pheasant shooting costing money but pigeons? Maybe it's because I'm old?

Simples........ I pay rather a lot of money for shoot tenancy on estate, I look to recoup that money in various ways. 1) Driven Game shooting 2) Occasional Duck Flighting 3) Bit of Pigeon shooting 4) Any other way I can earn a bit towards the overall costs of the shooting. If you sit down and work out the TRUE costs of running any form of shoot, you will realize why any form of income needs to be maximised. In many places, deer are regarded as vermin by forestry interests......... don't see much stalking being given away. Always remember- one mans vermin is another mans dinner!!

Pete

I live in Hemel Hempstead and have recently joined this forum.

I have BASC membership and insurance.

I am looking for pidgeon shooting opportunities and would be vey interested if you still have pigeons to shoot (aware that your post is several months old) or will have opportunities later in the year.

Regards

Martin
