Underdog
Well this pair have me beat! I can not second guess them. I returned in the dark this morning and waited for them to show at a favourite place, somewhere I regularly see fox's when some move in! In the half light the vixen went the opposite way, I have no idea if I got busted but 300yds is too far for me and this carbine so I left it be. I hung around in case she came back but she never. Conscious of the increasing light and me having no cover I slowly crunched my way back in the frost only to look back to see the dog sitting about 250yds away in the same direction the vixen retreated to wanting to come my way! I froze but I was made, however he did not run but just made a detour. I tried to head him off but I never saw him again, talk about frustrating! After that I wondered what with the strong sun up now if that vixen might be sunning her self in a spot they often do that I know of. I made my way as quietly as possible and sure enough there she was. In the poor photo she is to the right of the tin and under the low twig! That is 160 paces and from a sitting position gave the required hold and touched one off. No, I failed again! I watched her run off seemingly ok. The pheasants told me of her progress through the wood land also. I am starting to get a little fed up now I can tell you! At the site the hold over looked good, just a little hair about and no blood, I looked all around in the frost and snow for blood, none! I must of pulled the shot. I returned to the firing point and sent one to the tin and hit within 2" of what I was aiming at! The other day I checked my zero and put two from a knealing position 2" apart at 150strides, on zero. Fed up, knackered, ready to jack, getting old Underdog

filzee
We are having the same problem with a big fox. We have tried lamping it and flushed it to a line of guns but still it has evaded us. We will keep going. Good luck

I loaded fifty rounds of low power ammo and blated the lot a couple of days ago just to get some practice in! Felt awkward at first but is soon come back. It's amazing how it can slip away, shooting a particular gun that is, or do I just have too many! U
