Dunkield
I wonder what these gastropubs pay for a dressed squirrel. 50p was the rumour when this was news back in 2008 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mandrake/3491038/Heston-Blumenthal-goes-nuts-for-squirrel-recipe.html
fruity
I don't mind it in a casserole or on the bbq in the summer
nickologjam
We sold quite a lot last year round farmers markets in the North West. Quite popular but more of a novelty than anything I suspect. Not really financially viable though when you can skin 3 rabbits in the same time as 1 squirrel
GingerCat
Never tried but holy to give it a go. Not many near me.
Mentalmac
I quite like the taste of squirrel. Slow cooked or in foil in oven is nice. To make skinning easier, you literally have to do it on the spot after shooting - I often carry a couple of food bags in my pocket now in case. This was a tip learnt off this great forum. SNS
I had squirrel pithiver as a starter at the Hatfield House hotel some years ago. Was quite tasty I seem to recall !
