ferguson_tom
Hi Everyone Booking up a holiday for May time with the caravan to Isle of wight, and getting late ferry back on a Thursday night. The following day we have a long drive to Norwich for a steam rally. Ferry docks in Southampton at 22.00 so looking for somewhere to pull up overnight in either Southampton or on M3. Would prefer somewhere before Basingstoke-ish however can carry on a bit if necessary. Due to the time we are docking and wanting minimal fuss with unhooking the van etc was looking at just a quick overnighter in the services rather than pulling onto a caravan site for less than 12 hours. Obvious choices are M27 Rownhams or M3 Winchester, Any advice where to or not to stay appreciated. Cheers, Tom
al4x
Surely it's easier to just go home, you'd be back by shortly after midnight and its a small detour on the way to Norfolk
lineshooter
We have used the M3 Winchester services a couple of times now and had no complaints, surprisingly quiet rooms considering they are right by the roadway.
felly100
Are you in the caravan club? They normally have CL's near ferry terminals.
Brixsmaid
There's always Fleet Services to the NE of Basingstoke on the M3 between junctions J4A-5 No idea what they are like, only occasionally used them for fuel or a P
happypig
please avoid Rownhams.
ferguson_tom
Thanks advice fellas advice from another forum also suggest fleet services as best option. We did think about driving home and restarting again but it's a case of getting the van on the drive at 1.00 in the morning after a long drive and day don't appeal. ack-ack
Why not try Immigration street? I would advise against using a vid camera though.

shoot and be safe
Talking of ferries, you can exchange your tesco club card points and get tipple their value on the Wightlink ferry Edited February 25, 2015 by shoot and be safe
ferguson_tom
I have looked at both options for Tesco clubcard and caravan club discounts on Wight link but there prices are virtually double red funnels. This deal red funnel are offering is very good 5 nights on a serviced pitch £85 and the ferry £53 each way any time of the day. Wight link lowest fare was £95 but for any reasonable time of day £178 thats each way!!
