the hitman
BD i have shot pigeons on rape when its at its winter growth stage , and in late april early May on bare patches mauled in winter, then stubble in late summer, but never when its fresh drilled. I dont think i have seen pigeons feeding on drilled rape either.

Highlander
The problem with drillings is it's just that...drilled where Woody can't get at it. With modern machinery there's precious little left on the top for the birds to get excited about. Find a farmer with some decrepit old machinery and you might have a chance (not easy despite farmers always pleeding poverty )
karl h
shot once on fresh drilled rape but it was drilled directly into wheat stubble so it was the best combination.
