Same field, same result.

The beans were drilled on my favourite flight line but only yesterday and although there were some pigeons on there were no flight lines in. Had I taken the decision to shoot these fields today I would almost certainly have ruined what might be a better day in the middle of next week.

So I returned to the fields where I shot 52 on Wednesday. I never saw a bird for fifteen minutes then a cloud of 200 or so erupted from a sheltered position. The wind was strong and very cold. There was nothing else for it to set up in a similar position with the strong wind again in my face which usually flummoxes me as I am not brave enough to put the rotary and decoys far enough out to allow the birds to turn into the pattern. I made a half hearted attempt though.

Many birds flew on the return line and I shot some which were full of barley. Some on the outbound line decoyed. Others flared wide as you would expect having been shot at three days earlier. This time I did not run out of cartridges but I did run out of time as I wanted to watch the Scotland v Ireland game on TV. I picked 52 pigeons.

It's good that you remembered where you shot and your cartridges. Yes it would have been better if you left it a couple of days for them to find the beans but you are a busy person at present . The presentation was as expected rustic????

JDog you had a great day well deserved, fill your boots before you leave the easy Cotswold Birds???
