Russell
Thanks for the link, but do we get different ammo in the U.K. ? My box of ammo says that the hollow point ammo is 40grain, but on that site it shows the hollow point as only being 37 grain ?? I have got a link to a Canadian site with various velocities & they also show the Winchester HPs s being 37 grain - http://www.nfa.ca/content/view/130/149/
Paul223
Most sub sonics travel around the 1050 feet per second mark, much higher and it will break the sound barrier, therefore becoming supersonic, interestingly in cold weather the speed of sound may fall by a few 10's fps due to denser air conditions. Hunter
Infact air has a very big part to play in trajectory aswell. When shooting high up in the mountains (thin air) you will require less range adjustment then down in a valley. When you think about it, that bullet may travel far and fast getting quite a bit of air resistance and of course, the gravitational pull. Anyone for zero G shooting with no air? 1 million mile dead straight high velocity shots are possible Just get yourself a Hubble telescope with crosshairs. Dunkield
Just get yourself a Hubble telescope with crosshairs. Have a look at Axe's Quad if you want to know what that looks like
Axe
I'm very fond of my hubble thank you.
Russell
Can you get scope mounts for the hubble ? The reason I'd like to find out exactly what the fps for the Winchester SuperX 40gr Subsonic hollow points is to use with the Ballistic Reticule Calculator programme for PC from Hawke Sports Optics (just waiting for my Hawke Endurance MAP scope HK3400 to arrive) Endurance® MAP riflescopes feature the same stunning optics as the standard Hawke Endurance®, offering super clarity at dawn and dusk. The in depth reticle design sets the MAP version apart from the competition. Primarily designed for .22 subsonic ammunitions, the Endurance® MAP 8 (Multi Aim Point) reticle allows the shooter to zero at 75yds. Then, whilst on 8X magnification, the remaining aim points have all been calculated at 25yd intervals right out to 225yds. The Endurance® MAP is however not just for rimfire enthusiasts as the reticle can be easily calibrated to work with all other calibres. Programme available free from :- http://www.hawkeoptics.com/brc/index.htm Hawke Ballistic Reticles Calculator (BRC) is a free tool designed to compliment the Hawke Specialised Reticles (SR6 and SR12) and the Hawke Multiple Aim Pointreticles (MAP6 and MAP8). The BRC software will be updated to include new Hawke reticles as they become available
