kennett
Anyone else finding it hard going this year? I'm normally fairly good at it, but this year I'm seriously struggling! Even allowing for a new shoot, it's not as easy not knowinh the hot spots but still would have expected to have caught something! Although the squirrels are trapping like lemmings so that makes up for it a little bit!
robbiep
I've not managed to get a call bird as yet !. Got 2 larsens set up, one with a fake nest in it, the other with a fake (but very realistic) opened up bunny. They're by hedgerows, in plain sight of trees that magpies use, but not a sniff ! robbiep
Why not try some roadkill? Because I'd have to change it every couple of days, and I don't do much mileage currently.
Suffolkngood
Because I'd have to change it every couple of days, and I don't do much mileage currently. That's fair enough but an Sunday afternoon drive with a few carrier bags in car should provide enough baits to put in the freezer till you get your first call bird. Konnie
I find it goes in cycles as your not going to get everyone, sometimes do it every other year but this is obviously down to your own area,
evo
kennet,,keep at it bud, they will eventually come, I personally don't use fake,,magpies are not soft and I have most success with a dead rabbit
Alycidon
I have been trapping for about 6 weeks and am about caught up. Got traps on the boundaries now catching incomers. Got one that wont go into a trap, saw it yesterday walking round a trap very calmly, suspect its my escapee. I will have a rifle to hand when it re appears hopefully.
