bluesj
Picked up a new cz455 synthetic this afternoon. First impressions apart from the stock being a bit hollow (which i knew before buying it and can easily be sorted) I'm very please at the price. The bolt was a tiny bit rough and the trigger a little heavy and a bit of creep. I've now stripped and cleaned it, not to much gunk and no swarf in it which was better than the T bolt i had, I've adjusted the trigger its now lovely no creep and about 2 1/2lbs pull and given the bolt a bit of a work out it all feels good. The only problems I've now got are 1. I'm working tomorrow so can't try it out 2. one of the ten round magazines I got with it is no good and 3 the moderator has the wrong pitch thread so it will mean a trip back to the shop. I bought a 455 a few weeks ago and its the first bolt rifle I've owned and I thought the bolt felt a bit rough, What did you do to you're bolt? I also have a trigger spring kit to fit when I have 10 minutes spare.

I just stripped and clean the gun including the bolt re-oiled it all then sat watching telly operating the blot, after every couple of minute i cleaned and oiled the bolt and action it started to feel better very quickly. billytheghillie
I would,nt say the stock is hollow, as mine broke in half, and definitely not hollow.

Mine is defiantly hollow! not that that is a problem in its self, its just that its a bit like a drum if you knock it. but i have a plan to sort that out. bluesj
Right this is what i bought a CZ 455 American synthetic in .22lr plus 2 x 10 round magazines and a SAK moderator. As said before one of the mags was no good and the mod was the wrong thread. The shop changed them no problem. Fitted a bipod and a 3-9x40 Just need to get out and try it now

bluesj
I've just put a few rounds through it, not zeroed properly yet but got 15 shots in a 40mm circle at about 35 yards and 13 where within about 25mm with rws, not too bad when leaning on a fence post being buffeted by the wind and an inquisitive bullock. Scottoj18
I have the cz 452 silhouette, done the trigger polished the bolt and I can't falter it. Try fiocchi hp subsonic mine loves them.
bluesj
Ill give the rws another go when i get to have a go properly and also winchesters as they are what work best in my other rifle
Guest stevo
I have the cz455 varmint in .22lr , I have been using eley sub-sonic HP and get on very well with them , worth a go
bluesj
Well I gave the rws subsonic hp another go this afternoon and the winchester super x. 5 shot groups at 50yds, the best i could do with a strong cross wind was 45mm with the rws and 20mm with the winchesters. managed a 35mm group 8 shot group at 75 yards, and bagged a couple of rabbits on the walk back I'll see what other make are about and try a couple more All in all very pleased with the gun. bluesj
Yes off a bi-pod and i was waiting for the wind to drop a bit before each shot
Guest stevo
well I would say your group was 18 mm , the two flyers might not be you fault , but only you can answer that , I would be happy though
bluesj
Its a good bet that the flyers were my fault but if it was at the center of a rabbits head any of the shot would be a kill so that I am happy with.
