sjnshooter
I'm looking to gety first .243 for stalking and foxing ! Really can't make my mind up what to go for. I like the look of the Howa stealth package for £800 with mod scope and bipod . Or the tikka t3 lite package with Burris scope and mod for £1500 which is about my max buget. Any advice on these would be great thanks
bluesj
Have you thought about going second hand or buying from an auction? Some nice looking rifles about.
neil w
No brainer, Howa are excellent rifles. But a tad heavy, use the other £700 and buy a decent scope opposed to the one In the package.
sjnshooter
Heard the houge stocks can be a problem but then others are saying there fine
sjnshooter
And what scope would you suggest for the £700 so many to choose from
MrDaveO84
And what scope would you suggest for the £700 so many to choose from I would go for a Schmidt & bender 8x56 amazing scope, you can get a new one for your budget or save yourself a couple of hundred and buy second hand

sjnshooter
What are Burris scopes like or are they not in same league as s-bender
welshwarrior
Not in the same league as any European glass but useable, typical American glass.
moorvale55
My son bought a 2nd hand .243 Remington 700 BDL in left hand for only £250.00, the barrel is in mint condition. Total cost with a Hawke top end scope was only £350.00 from Bates in Stafford. It shoots great and with little recoil.
