Jay_Russell
Ive got 150 odd acres of beans on one of my perms, good flightlines over it between two woods they enjoy using. Ive been shooting under the flightlines from time to time which has been ok. When are they likely to be interested in the beans? There just comming into flower now. Some one said july is a time worth looking at? The havnt decoyed at all well since they chited apart from rock doves which we have an awefull lot off around here! fenboy
I doubt they will be interested in beans now until after they are cut which will be much later than july.
motty
I personally wouldn't bother with them until the beans are harvested, which is usually September. You may find the pigeons on the fields when the pods are black and pigeons can get access to the beans.
JDog
I am with the two true experts above. However last year I did observe pigeons going into a field of beans the plants in which were in flower and there was no doubt that they were eating the flowers. This was the only time I have ever seen it.
Jay_Russell
Cheers for the quick replies chaps. I didnt want to keep shooting the flightlines if they were likely to be gaining interested in the beans anytime soon. But ive got a few more weeks yet then. I am with the two true experts above.
