neillfrbs
was talking with the wife today ,and she asked what would happen to your guns ,if something was to happen to you . that got me thinking .now i have an amo safe with combination build in the wall .where i keep my amo and gun safe keys .now not being able to let her no the combination ,what would be the best way around the problem, of her gaining access .if the worst was to happen and i went off to the happy hunting ground in the sky. saddler
Leave a sealed envelope at the RFD, or with a lawyer, that has the combination written in it Or post it to me with your address & the dates of any holidays you have booked for this year
la bala
If the safe has a door that can be opened with, can of coke, potato or any other household object the wife shouldnt have a problem.
screamingdead
My keys are kept in a safe that's potato proof. Combination is in envelope with my will at solicitors.
kaunda
Not quite the same, but may be found interesting. When working abroad I left my guns,in their locked cases bearing a label ' said to contain sporting shotguns (details) ' with the local bank where they were lodged in their strong room.I retained the keys.Plod got to know of this and told the Bank Manager he had to get rid of them as he(as agent of the bank),and the bank itself did not have a shotgun certificate. This caused a great smitherum albeit I was able to re-locate them. This bank branch has now closed. JDog
About 20 years or so ago the police called on the then senior partner of Her majesty's The Queens Solicitors Farrer and Co. The was supposed to be a routine call. The man himself was at work in London but he had made the mistake of telling his wife where the keys to his shotgun cabinet were. She promptly showed the Police. Weeks later the Senior Partner was summonsed. I believe the offence was not keeping his shotguns in a secure place. Carman06
If it's all locked up in a cabinet don't worry. All she would need to do is call in a locksmith. (A real one not a cowboy with a drill as many are these days).
