viking
well as ever nothing really went to plan today, my mate turned up 2 hours late, left me wondering round thinking what to do on my own, so i thought id put the seat retainer straps on. all went well, hot screw driver to make the hole . viking
then i set about putting the air oil bath cleaner on, sat it in place then realised i needed a clasp or something like that to tighten the bracket in place that holds it in place, so i was going to put the big hose on and realised i didnt have any jubilee clips big enough
viking
my mate finally turned up at 3pm instead of 1pm, first plan was to get the door hinges on and get the doors on, got the brackets on and offered the door up, no where near fitting in a month of sundays, unless the windscreen fits inside the front door my about 2 inch so off with the windscreen, that i most obviously put on wrong.and the rear tub needed to go back a bit, it was then we realised that it wasnt even bolted on yet so thet was ok as there was o bit of room for it to go back. only problem was where the spout of the diesel tank goes up through the rear bulk head it was already butt up to it. so we had to drop the diesel tank, it was then after an hour my mate had to go off and pick some one up, ill be back in an hour he said, sure, i thought. 2 hours later, did he come back, did he ****. so now im left alone to square up the rear tub and bolt it all down, as in my mind i wanted it doing before i left the garage, not an easy feat on yourself, them ******* bolt at the back and then having to have 4 foot long arms to get the nuts on underneath and over the chassis, what a task, but i got there in the end, Edited October 9, 2016 by viking

viking
bolts for the door hinges were a bit weird, seemed to be to big, before they seemed to go well into the hole, these new ones didn't apart from one which looks odd and i will have to do something about it,

viking
you are missing a rubber compression strip ....for the back door to close onto................... where does that go, because there was some strip of metal that i thought went on there somewhere it had about 10 small holes in it, well it did before it got galvanised and then there was some flat but that i thing held the carpet down ill take a picture of them in a bit so you can see them the rear seats.........the strap is designed to go OVER the seat leg to stop them coming free and banging about .... i thought they should of once id put them on, but there isnt much material left to go over them, i had to press seats well back to get them where they are now, i will have a look tomorrow and see if i can do them properly looking good my man........ totally wrong screws can you not get any of land rover i think they still sell them hinge bolts for the early 90s not the years the model lol ill have to try get some proper ones as im not happy with them

ronnie12342003
that spanners been broke a long time there a shiny new crack and a black rusty crack when you got splatted by the rear axle it brought back a sad day when i was a 15 year old apprentice my mate was working on a suspension leg of a escort car using a so called new spring compressor well all i heard was bang run in and the top bearing of the suspension leg was embedded in the side of my mates head suffice to say he was dead so you where very very lucky
