ditchman
You could always try and make a whole album of the pictures using Photobucket and post a link to it, That way the picture volume isn't on the forum but on Photobucket instead? that should work ........ viking
now as i said with the engines finished colour of red oxide i couldn't really use the same colour primer as paint so went for whit primer, looked shocking after the first couple of coats, but then put a coat of red oxide primer on it and it looked a 1000 times better so now im going to give it one quick go over in white and then 2 or 3 coats of the red oxide heat resistant engine paint, . . . viking
not that it looks any different from when it had primer on it but its now had 2 coats of red oxide paint on it and as far as im concerned its the finished project, iv spent hours and hours on that getting it ready, wire wheel on the grinder,on the drill and lots of sanding by hand and i think its paid off, when its dry tomorrow it will look the dogs, shame 80% wont even be seen . . Fuji Shooter
what have you been quoted, in out or both £2000 for the lower half outside only. I am removing the roof and putting a truck cab on. I didn't think it was that bad considering how much rubbing down of the existing hand paint there is. He reckons it will take 5 days to rub it down with the DA and 3 days in paint.
ditchman
did you or your mate hone out the bores ...they look clean and tidy............the engine will smoke quite a bit for 10 miles then the smoke will dissapear as the rings cut their way into the bores and start scraping right........... viking
now obviously im no paint sprayer but time wise that seems like a hell of a long time to sand down the lower half of a land rover, nor do i know what the process is for spraying a car but 3 days also seems a lot, i could spray 100 double Decker buses in that time did you or your mate hone out the bores ...they look clean and tidy............the engine will smoke quite a bit for 10 miles then the smoke will dissapear as the rings cut their way into the bores and start scraping right........... yes my mate did it with one of them things you put on the end of a drill, something buster he called it i think
