ditchman
Got vikings injectors..........laid them out and i will test them before i take them apart...to see what they were set at..........the 2.25 should be set at a break out pressure of 135bar........ have had a good look at them and i will replace 2 of them as they are badly pitted with rust...i have a few spare ones so it is no big deal....i have also a spare set of seating washers and the crush washers that sit on the tip of the nozzle............ one thing you must do is to have a good look down the injectors slots to see if the old washers have been removed...if they havnt the injectors will blow...so get a good torch and have a look.......... viking
nice one ditchie you are a true gent, i take it the pitting was on the outside of the injectors, pretty sure i took the washers out of the injector slots as you mentioned that i should check them a while ago, but i will double check
viking
well today i had a few jobs on my list i wanted to get done.job 1 was to put the bump stops on, after placing them where they should go it was obvious something wasnt right as the holes didnt line up from the chassis to the brackets on the bump stops, i bought some new bolts that were correct size as i took the bump stops into the shop, and also the holes on the chassis were not quite big enough so out with my obviously cheap and nasty drill bits, pretty sure they shouldn't of ended up like this after 20 seconds , managed to find one of my dads old ones that did the trick and got them all in place drilled and bolted on, job 1 done
viking
job 2, having found out im a bulkhead bracket short, and realising that i did originally have 2 through checking old photos i bought a pair off ebay for £20 inc P&P so i set to work cleaning them up, then decided i only needed one so just did the one for the time being, it also had some strange bracket attached to it, im sure it serves a purpose but what im not quite sure yet, stripped down primed and painted, job 2 done, . . . viking
job 3 was to sort out the steering column just in case i ever get my ******* bulkhead back hung it up and it was already primed as i did that after it had been shot blasted, but gave it another go over, then it started ******* out oil but i was in the zone and wanted to get it painted so masked the bottom bit off and painted it it will probably of run out of oil tomorrow and i can finish it off . ditchman
when in locked the tops back on the annealed copper washers crushed nicely as RodP said it is always worth annealing new washers as they can harden over time in storage

ditchman
your steering column..............have you checked it for play .............do it now before you fit it.........its either a shim or adjustment lock nut and screw......easy fix.. wash it out with petrol and refill it with ep 90 or ep 120........might be worth doing the seals they will only cost pennies...do it before you fit it cause you wont be able to do once you have fitted it ......
