Heater controls on the right hand of the instrument panel control :

hot and cold, that cable operates the valve near the thermostat and

the other one controls the flaps in the lower dash panel. Now you have the same problem as me, I took it all apart and though dead easy but I forgot to take pics!! The flap on the drivers side of the lower dash should have a dodah that the cable goes into and is held on by a method I have yet to divine from the tea leaves the other end is just clamped in place at control lever end. Your flap seems to be missing the dodah bit that the cable gets attached to. I thought it would be clamped in place by a screw down the centre of said dodah but this is either wrong or I have lost the screw that does this. The cable doesn't look like it has been clamped in position but I did find a rusty metal ring in the pile of bits I took off it so that may have something to do with it. I have tried looking for pictures but it seems no one takes photos of this!

Good answer that mate. Cheers.

And yes I did do a bit of a demo job on it when I got it. But also it was bodged in so many ways. Previous owner obviously didn't care. And it came from Guernsey where they don't have MOT's just looked back on some of my old photos I took and there was nothing but a pipe coming of the heater control valve. Don't even get me started on the wiring. I bet there were enough redundant wire in it and behind the dash to wire 4 of them up

Lee are you retrimming the Safari yourself or sending it out to be done?

My vent controls are in the dash cubby holes

there is a gurt hole there already, and was one the other side, but due to in having the new quarter panel on the rear tub there isnt now, i could put a square one where the hole is though :hmm::hmm:
